Can cannabis offer a lifeline in the battle against drug addiction, particularly for those grappling with the perils of stimulants like crystal methamphetamine? New research from the University of British Columbia (UBC) suggests it might. The study, published in Addictive Behaviors, found that cannabis use is linked to a decrease in the use of crystal methamphetamine among individuals at high risk of overdose in Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside, an area severely impacted by illegal drug use.

I don’t know about stimulants but I can attest first hand that it has 100% helped me to stop being an alcoholic lol

I quit drinking with it as well. I don’t care if anyone says it’s just a substitute addiction because I don’t do or say stupid things on cannabis.

That’s part of the reason why I use the delta vapes. They don’t get you super “high”, and even if you take a really big hit the effects start to wear off after about an hour. I definitely didn’t want to trade in getting drunk all day long for getting high all day long lol

It does just enough to ease the anxiety that used to send me on all night drinking binges

I haven’t had a drink in 2 and a half years! It definitely hasn’t been easy but using a THC vape has helped immensely

I cant speak for the person you asked, but for me it hasn’t made me quit drinking entirely. But it certainly helps keep me to a healthier level. Unfortunately its still illegal where i live, but alcohol is freely available at any corner store.

The only thing legal where I am are the THC vapes like Delta 8. The local politicians are trying to get those banned too and the only real reason for it is that booze is one of the biggest industries here. The people in charge would prefer we all be alcoholics than lose a penny in taxes on beer sales
