Other than the donut, it looks fine to me.

Apple sauce and milk for a meal? And TV going on in the background? The apple sauce is a snack, not a meal.

Make the kid some protein pancakes, pureed veggies, etc. I have three kids and a full-time job, and I do much better than that. It’s not hard to switch it up and get a good variety, especially at 1yo when a smoothie (easy to throw veggies in) is generally well liked.

Sometimes you need to be firm and let them miss a meal if they refuse the food offered, but usually there’s a way to get them to eat something reasonably healthy. This seems like the mother is frustrated and just wants the kid to eat something, but the kid doesn’t seem to be starving, so they can afford to be more strict.

Well, I am not a parent nor do I think I’d be a good one. This just confirms that.

The only thing you need to be a good parent is the desire to be a good parent. If it’s something you want to do, read up on parenting strategies. I really liked Parenting with Love and Logic (recommended by our pediatrician), and there’s a ton of other support options out there as well.

If you don’t want to, that’s cool too.

Parenting aside, not sure I want to bring anyone into THIS world.
