I’m done, I’ve been banned for expressing a different opinion (without insulting or personally attacking anyone), I’ve been accused of evading a ban with multiple accounts (this is my only account I’ve ever had on any lemmy instance), I’ve had people selectively ignore my comments and accuse me of things which I never said, and I’ve had people ignore valid criticisms and keep attacking me.

Reddit has many issues with trolls, one-sided discussion, and just general bullshit, but many Lemmy instances are way worse. The newfound freedom of Lemmy has attracted many extremists, from both sides, and many of them are moderators, who are more than happy to remove any contrarian opinions. This results in discussions being echo chambers

This is also a complete falsification of history. Conveniently ignoring the Likud party assassinating Rabin too when the Palestinians were about to accept a deal.

And it is still not relevant as stealing 90% of the land doesn’t make you a good guy when you give 10% back. Furthermore there is no justification for entrapping two million people in a concentration camp for 20 years.

For a better understanding consider this video

You’re kinda missing the point and seeing the trees for the forest. I don’t know how to discuss this with you any longer. If all IDF bombing stopped tomorrow, Hamas will still continue its relentless attacks until it achieves its goals. Nothing will change. Pretending Hamas is some noble liberation army is incredibly misguided. They will not stop until all of Israel has been exterminated. Both sides in this conflict are relentless and to say otherwise is to be incredibly ignorant. Also, you gotta stop with the YouTube links. YouTube is not a primary source for any type of political discussion.

No there was a ceasefire in November and Hamas kept it well.

Only israel violated it twice. Which is tradition as every ceasefire gets violated by israel.

Hey, look at that. If you go back in time you can find enough atrocious actions committed by both sides:

          Hamas Breaches Ceasefire

Do we need to play the “snipe the event that fits our narrative” game now? I can’t believe the lengths you are going to defend Hamas. We can condemn Israel, but we don’t need to defend Hamas in order to do that. What part is about this is confusing to you?

            1. That ceasefire was violated directly by israel at the very start of it (and another occurence in the middle):

Nov24: Israeli Forces Open Fire at Palestinians Returning North, Kill Two

Two Palestinians were killed and others were injured when Israeli occupation forces opened fire at citizens who were trying to return to the northern Gaza Strip, soon after the start of the humanitarian truce on Friday morning, Al-Jazeera reported.

            1. That truce was ended because israel refused to extend the ceasefire

Reports say that israel just started blasting their siren but no actual rockets were observed. Then israel started bombing Gaza again

Are you saying that if I go back in time, I will never find a ceasefire being breached by Hamas? Are you saying that if I go back in time and dig up, I will never find an occurrence of Palestinians walking away from peace deals?

If you need to go back in time 50 years to find examples consider restricting yourself to the current conflict.

Plenty of calls for peace were made in the last 10 years and israel was the party refusing all of them by further annexing the west bank and increasing their blockade and bombings of Gaza.

So we can close our eyes and pretend the last fifty years are inconsequential, right? Is that how Israeli people see it?
