We may be anonymous strangers on the internet, but we have one thing in common. We may be a world apart, but we’re here together!

Welcome to the 24 hour pledge! I’m pledging myself to not drinking today, and invite you to do the same.

Maybe you’re new to c/stopdrinking and have a hard time deciding what to do next. Maybe you’re like me and feel you need a daily commitment or maybe you’ve been sober for a long time and want to inspire others.

It doesn’t matter if you’re still hung over from a three day bender or been sober for years, if you just woke up or have already completed a sober day. For the next 24 hours, let’s not drink alcohol!

Day 19. Monday morning. It’s odd to have had a weekend without drinking any alcohol. It’s good, but it’s seems pretty odd. Breaking out of what’s become normal to me has been a really slow process so far. Fished most of the day yesterday, so that’s a normal normal, because I never drank on the boat, but filling the other gaps with shit that I need to be doing anyway, hasn’t come so easily. I really gotta work on that… Anyways, I will not drink with you this day!

I feel you. First couple of weekends sober was weird and tough for me. A lot of times I drank because I was bored and I had to relearn that boredom isn’t necessarily a bad thing and can actually end up motivating me to do shit I’ve been putting off. Also helped to get me to reach out to people I hadn’t connected with in a while. It’s definitely a process tho. I will not drink with you today

Yeah, totally relate with that, man!

I think it’s probably a good idea to reconnect with some old friends that weren’t based on drinking beers and raising hell. That’s a really good thought… Thanks, CG.

And I know we’ve both got projects waiting on our hands to touch em. I’m gonna get at that old Subaru before very much longer. Weather’s getting better and outside is already calling me back home… Things are getting better, man.

I will not drink with you today.
