I use a mix of media players and a video synthesizer.

To get an easy connection though all you need is an hdmi to av converter (can find on ebay under 10 USD) and set up a camera infront of the CRT. Once you get some colors that you like and some dead space take your picture and mirror it to create patterns. Mirror the parts you like and let the creativity flow.

If you end up giving it a shot and run into some issues or want to share, definitely feel free to shoot me a message!

edit: you can get video synthesizers on etsy or make your own! they help create blending and warping effects

Thanks! I am definitely going to try this out! My TV already has an HDMI to coax converter on it that I use to watch Roku on it, so it sounds like I just need to get a video synthesizer!

Do you use a screen grabber to save the images or are you just taking a picture of the actual CRT screen here?

I am taking pictures of the actual CRT screen here is this original image before I mirrored it a bunch. Using obs or something like it wont capture the analog effects.

Ok that makes sense… I guess if you used a screen capture it would lose all the artifacts and halos and stuff
