When I was younger, I was told the difference between a boat and a ship was that “a ship can carry a boat, but a boat can’t carry a ship” So what am I supposed to call a ship that can carry not one ship but three ships?

They even ship entire ships using larger ships.
Well that’s just confusing as all get out.
