This is consistant across all sectors, F1, Tesla, SpaceX, other companies in the space sector If you do something not cool in the middle of nowhere, guess what, you get paid much more. In engineering, you take a pay hit for the cool factor. If the talent WANTS to work for you, the company can afford to pay you less.
