So, i was a liftoff user because the app was the app that looked the most like rif when i migrated away from reddit in july last year, but hasnt had updates since. With the lemmy.world update from a few hours ago its officially dead though which makes me sad as the others arent like it all. ANYWAY, now using voyager and trying to make it look to my tastes. So far so good, but seem to be missing user profile pictures/icons and some general flair/info i used to see in liftoff. Is this a missing feature in voyager? Do i enable it somewhere?

You can’t currently. Voyager adopts Apollo’s DNA which is to focus on user content, rather than how cool your profile is. ;)

That being said, there will be a setting to enable at some point in the future. See: https://github.com/aeharding/voyager/issues/567

Praying this also means the Profile button will merge with the Settings button so the middle button can be a Create Post button so creating user content is much easier especially for new users

Hm, that PR is one of the things i was missing ye! Im not sure why it hasnt been merged yet though. Sure, the guy didnt ask if he could work on it but the code looks ok from a far and he has it done now anyway. Might as well merge it then anyway…

You should give the issue an upvote, right now it has zero upvotes. :)

As for why it isn’t merged in yet, is because it is a PR for a user submitted issue that hasn’t been fully triaged yet. For example, should avatars also be added to profile, autocomplete, post details, account selector etc, should avatars be animated, or frozen etc

I do need to revisit that PR and issue though, there have just been other priorities (again, upvote the issue if you want it)

Personally id tackle it in an agile way, and implement it step by step as user feedback comes in. Like sure, id like user profiles to look like they look in boost and liftoff, but id be happy to see them in comments first.
But i am not part of the project so its not for me to decide nor tell you how to run it! Thanks for linking this though and thanks for the app! Liking it so far! :)
