The President and Congress have control over funding and weapons sales.

The Vice President is more effectively just a figurehead for all but resolving ties in the Senate. The VP obviously has a stronger voice than most but little actual power to do anything directly in our government.

What more is a figurehead good for then? A figurehead is the government personifed, and you’re complaining about taking a shot at it using that framing. Are you proposing that Biden is not getting enough flack and all our energies are being wasted on Harris? Because I really don’t think that’s happening here.

You’re technically correct, but so wrong in your critique of this. It’s a political framing that may not be Fact, but it is True - she’s the voice of the government, lamenting a disaster that it created. In much the same way that you present a fact that doesn’t get at the Truth.

      You’re missing the point.

Oh I’m not missing anything, it’s not exactly news that the US government often does one thing and says another when it comes to things our allies do or want. I’m just pointing out that the VP has very little actual power. Your original comment seems to assume the VP actually has power to do things directly, which is simply not true, especially with anything involving the budget and the military.

Ah yes, I forgot that on the modern internet, pointing out simple facts taught by Schoolhouse Rock videos aired during weekend cartoons is shilling.

Anything else requires actual thinking and that’s just asking too much for some.
