I’m just going to explain the idea behind the push to vote uncommitted. The Democratic primary is more or less a show, since the democratic party refused to hold a proper primary. Therefore most ballots are between no-name Democrats, Biden, and the addition of uncommitted to vote for nobody. You, me, Biden, the other candidates, and everyone knows that Biden will get the primary win.

Voting uncommitted sends the signal “I don’t like the values of anyone on the ballot”. This uncommitted campaign acknowledges that Biden will be running against Trump with no real recourse, while telling Biden and the democratic party to shape up and stop supporting genocide. Then in the general we vote to prevent a fascist dictator from taking over and keep up the pressure through community organizing after the election.

It’s ‘more or less a show’ because there’s an incumbent running and no politician with any sense or career aspirations is challenging an incumbent president in a primary; not because the Democratic Party decided they were just going to skip the primary this year for funsies. If it was that easy for the DNC to skip out when they wanted to, Hillary would have been crowned without opposition in 2015-2016.

      Otherwise, good writeup.

With all due respect to the concept and logic of this- which I understand and respect…

That’s now what everyone is saying. And making a blanket statement that it is- is essentially welcoming bad-faith right-wing propaganda into the fold.

There are ABSOLUTELY people here that are suggesting that people should not vote at all in November. And they’re pretending they’re part of your ideology.
