Way ahead of most folks in here. I’m not taking the fight to the streets, but I feel I have legitimate concerns.

I see a clear path for my neighbors, who know I’m well-armed and practiced, to join a modern Brown Shirt movement, come knocking.

“Hey man! Look, we love you, and we know it’s kinda crazy right now, just hand in your guns and this’ll all blow over.”

Remember when Hamas came knocking? There was one guy at the music festival quoted saying, “I just wanted some way to fight back, not feel so helpless.” (None y’all start with me. I’m not on Israel’s side.)

POC, LGBT and women have been the largest gun purchasing demographic for a few years now. Maybe some of y’all should smell what they’re cookin’?

The comparison to one guy wanting to feel less helpless by living the fantasy that he could somehow defend against a large scale attack with a gun is the absolute perfect metaphor for American attitudes towards guns, though probably not how you meant it to be.

That wonderful delusion given to them by Hollywood that they can be a one man army!
