    I don’t think I would be as successful if I didn’t have my degree, but I don’t use it and I’m still in a decent amount of debt for it. I recommend everyone to get at least a bachelor’s degree, but don’t worry about going to some prestigious school, and certainly don’t accrue any debt in the process.

    I got a bachelor’s in Chemistry, but I realized very quickly after graduating that there are precisely zero decent paying jobs for a bachelor’s degree in chemistry. The only place I even got a callback from was an overnight urinalysis lab offering me $14/hr.

    I’ve since managed to get into web development, and would consider myself pretty successful. I don’t use my chem degree, but my math minor certainly comes in handy.
