A pensioner has been caught on CCTV apparently spraying the word ‘b******’ onto the plinth holding a statue of Margaret Thatcher, Britain’s first female prime minister.

Its installation was controversial and it has been egged and spat on – with some jokers even marking the statue as a public toilet on Google Maps.

How is Thatcher still triggering people so much?

She stopped being PM 34 years ago and has been dead for 11 years.

    Get the fuck over it.

A lot of the issues we have today stem from her privatisation and the north has never recovered. Her effect on the country has not stopped just because she’s no longer PM and ultimately dead.

Yes, it’s been so awful that no government has ever wanted to reverse it.

Well, a lot of the policy and austerities she set were “reversed” because they weren’t sustainable. However, once you normalize a political ideology and set a precedent, it’s hard to prevent it from happening again.

Why would a capitalist dictatorship reverse something that benefits the capitalist class?

Please for the love of god just do the bare minimum research. It’ll stop you looking like an ass.

For most people they then either ignore the thread or look up the name on the web to learn something new. You on the other hand decided to pop in and boast about your ignorance instead.

          Interesting choice.

You decided to make yourself feel superior by shitting on people from around the world who took the time to engage the comment section.

Do you want empty comment sections? Because this is how you get empty comment sections.

            So fuck off, wanker.

Empty comments aren’t any better than any comment sections. It should be easier to look her up than type those comments. Either way she could be compared to Reagan.

Her actions are still negatively influencing peoples lives to this day. You should stop being such a bootlicker.

Should we just forget about all the villains of history and allow ourselves to continue being taken advantage of then?

Forgetting what happened is why we vote in wankers again and again. Only the idiotic don’t learn.

The real question is how are right-wingers still fetishizing Thatcher so much?

When that ends, then resisting it can end.

That is also weird because we haven’t had anything close to Thatcherism since she left office.

You appear to have missed the bit when a certain neo-Thatcherite PM fucked the economy to ribbons in mid-2022 then.

Lol, she wasn’t Thatcherite apart from dressing like her.

She announced a public spending plan of £130 billion over two years. She was going to use the state to prop up business. Literally the opposite of Thatcher’s philosophy. Thatcher also wanted to control inflation and lower the deficit. Truss’s plans gave no consideration to any of that.
