Sword Art Online Progressive vol 1: I really liked this one. Like, I was expecting generic dumb SAO fun, but it actually digs in to nuances of the system and community in a way that really makes it feel like a story in a world, not just a power fantasy. Plus Kirito being an awkward teenager is much better than… the main series.

Roll over and die vol 3: I feel like this series gets more interesting as it goes on, and the main characters see actual development and have to fight internal conflicts, but it also feels like stuff just comes out of nowhere pretty regularly. And so many of the villains are just comically evil. It’s a bit hard to judge whether it’s actually good, but I definitely enjoyed volume 3 more than the first two. I’m almost done volume 4 and this is still holding so far, but in this series it feels like it only takes one weird sequence to shift my feelings on it so who knows how I’ll feel in a few chapters.

      Roll over and die

Was that the series with both the MC and sidekick getting so absurdly mistreated as a backstory? With the monsters that have some spiral face?
