    Office worker sitting in a climate controlled office earning 200k+ and no one questions it; soldiers putting their literal life at risk and earning ~40k asks for a raise and people lose their mind.

    I’m all for living in what you can afford, but it doesn’t justify what our soldiers are paid and the treatment they get post service.

      Treatment post service is horrible. What they get paid though, they signed up for. Increase the minimum wage 10 years ago and I might start being sympathetic. If one has always been shit, the other has to be as well. It’s an accurate reflection of our country. I have plenty of empathy, when you set out to be the grand protector, “You get what you get and you don’t get upset”. Everyone in the service industry is treated as disposable, killing people and risking your life cannot be considered service anymore.
