Kamala Khan was revealed to be a mutant in the Disney+ Ms. Marvel series, and Iman Vellani would love to see her character join the X-Men in the Marvel Cinematic Universe down the line...
Apparently, when she was created, the plan was always to make her a mutant but editorial killed the idea because, at that time, the Fox properties were on the outs at Marvel.
They certainly dropped hints about Ms. Marvel being a mutant at the end of her TV series. The irony is Quake / Daisy Johnson is a mutant in the comics but they had to make her an Inhuman for Agents of SHEILD because at the time Fox Studios had the exclusive rights to the Marvel Mutant concept.
This generations Kitty Pryde or Jubilee… they’re already doing it in the comics.
What I don’t like about this is that the X-Men are a family and Miss Marvel already has a perfectly fine one.
