Hello Austinites! I’m going to be flying into your beautiful city for the eclipse in a few weeks and would love to find a nice secluded spot for the best experience. Unfortunately, every car rental company is totally sold out that week so I don’t have the ability to get very far out of town.
Any advice on good spots within rideshare distance, or maybe viewing groups that are renting minibuses to get a little further out?
Half the world is going to do the same. Just go west as far as you can with a folding chair and find a parking lot. Bring water as you’ll be stuck there a while.
