I went on a date years ago, things went well, we ended up at her place. She asks if I want to go to her room to watch a film on her laptop.

She puts on Swiss Army Man and while initially she and I were just doing it as an excuse to get in bed and mess around, we found the whole film so bizarre that we forgot about sex and just enjoyed the zombie radcliffe fart jokes.

That woman is now my wi—nah not really lol. She got deported a couple of months later. But I remember that film/night fondly. I should add it to my Plex server.

I am still not sure why most countries don’t have relatively open borders. Europe would benefit from Americans, America would benefit from everyone else, grass is always greener and all.

You can see Americans wanting to move to places many people would think kind of crazy, like Latvia or China… why not just let them?

Idk, maybe I am too optimistic, but I believe global freedom of movement (or as close as we can come to that) is the only opportunity towards world peace.

Naive, more like. Migration to/from somewhere tends to always come with mistrust or disdain for that origin wherever they arrive (my grandfather complains about Mediterraneans, which is the most unique racism I’ve encountered yet). Until humanity figures out how to stop reacting this way, freedom of movement will always be a source of tension.
