There were a ton of musicals during that period that, to me at least, were highly influential and some of my favorite films. Hello dolly, Mary Poppins, West side story, the music man, the sound of music. Cleopatra is supposed to be a cinematic masterpiece and a piece of Hollywood history. Breakfast at Tiffany’s is iconic, and one of the movies I can watch over and over. Night of the living dead, Rosemary’s baby, The Birds are some iconic horror films. 2001: A Space Odyssey is a piece of sci Fi history, as is Planet of the Apes. Barberella is fantastic and fun. There are so, so many iconic films from that decade. Films that changed Hollywood and inspired so many films to come.
Psycho is certainly an absolute classic.
