The world has experienced its hottest day on record, according to meteorologists.

The average global temperature reached 17.01C (62.62F) on Monday, according to the US National Centres for Environmental Prediction.

The figure surpasses the previous record of 16.92C (62.46F) - set back in August 2016.

    Congrats? Local temperature is not what this is about. Average global temperature was the hottest on record and is indicating that the earth is warning.

        If they were, then my mistake, but I don’t think that’s what they were meaning. They’re in Bueno Aires and the average winter temp is right around 16C, so I think they were saying it’s the same as normal to discredit our climate change concerns.

        depends where you are. 16c on a winters day here is pretty typical, the coldest nights might drop to 5c
