A judge has recommended that conservative attorney John Eastman lose his California law license over his efforts to keep former President Donald Trump in power after the 2020 election.

Eastman, a former law school dean, faced 11 disciplinary charges in the state bar court stemming from his development of a legal strategy to have then-Vice President Mike Pence interfere with the certification of President Joe Biden’s victory.

State Bar Court of California Judge Yvette Roland’s recommendation, issued Wednesday, now goes to the California Supreme Court for a final ruling on whether he should be disbarred. Eastman can appeal the top court’s decision.

Seems oddly difficult. The state bar can’t do it unilaterally which is weird, they pass it to the State Supreme Court… and he can still appeal that somehow.

It’s been both eye opening and extremely disheartening watching the veil pulled back on the US legal system.

Subpoenas can be ignored by Jim Jordan with no consequence. Judges threatened with no consequences. Appeals going right to the Supreme Court by the affluent. Judge shopping. Recusals from conflicts of interest optional. Supreme Court justices taking gifts and payments without consequence. Et cetera, et cetera.

Our Supreme Court where graft is rampant… blatantly biased courts at every level. It’s not looking great.

SCOTUS itself can just be ignored. See Alabama’s racist redistricting.
