I’m a bit confused with my options here. I am looking at Reddit alternatives and see a lot of people flocking to lemmy but it seemed like kbin was the more centrist option?
Apparently lemmy was set up by a tankie and has some CCP propaganda and other problematic background?

I have accounts with both and definitely seems like kbin is struggling compared to lemmy but that could just be because lemmy is better established? What are people’s thoughts?
if the kbin server you are using is struggling, you can always choose another instancs, such as https://fedia.io . See https://fedidb.org/software/Kbin for a complete list. If you are not happy with the moderators of your lemmy instance, you can use a different Lemmy instance too: https://join-lemmy.org/instances
fedia’s Terms of Use and Privacy Policy are blank, so who knows who runs it and what their political views are? I’m testing it but I’m not supercomfortable recommending it yet.
Fedio.io is run by Jerry Bell. Not sure his political views, but he will run an excellent server. He runs the infosec.exchange Mastodon instance. He is the VP and CISO of IBM Public Cloud.
Here is his post announcing it. https://infosec.exchange/@jerry/110523070726279385
Thanks. I’ve asked him about the blanks.
Absolutely!
