Iran informed the US that it would refrain from responding to the airstrike in which senior Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) commanders were killed in Damascus if a ceasefire in Gaza is reached, Jadeh Iran reported on Sunday.

The news outlet cited an anonymous Arab diplomatic source, saying the source spoke to the news outlet two days ago. The source added that “If America succeeds in containing the situation, it will be a great success for the Biden administration and we can build on that.”

Does Biden have the power to stop supporting the war? Like will any action be null and void due to the USA political structure or does he in fact have some sort of power that can stop all support by a stroke of the pen?

Yes Biden can stop it with one phone call. All he has to do is admit Israel is committing war crimes and it becomes illegal for the US to supply them with weapons.

The US can stop all arms selling this instant and it wouldn’t change a thing. Israel already has enough weapons now to wipe out the whole region.

They do not that is a fairy tale. Israel is incredibly weak without American bombs. they will run out in weeks.

“Munitions, munitions, and munitions”: Israel’s Netanyahu wants steady supply of more U.S. bombs

“We need three things from the US: munitions, munitions, and munitions,” Netanyahu said during a meeting with local government officials, per a recording obtained by the Israel Hayom newspaper, which Doha News could not verify, and quoted by the Financial Times.

One statement by a politician does not facts make. Lemmy users have a boner for quote sniping to make arguments. I promise you Israel has enough capital to just go down to the next shop and buy what they need. And this is coming from someone that is disgusted with the IDF. Do not attribute to me a position I do not hold. I hope you’re right, Linkerbaan, but everything else I’ve heard has told me otherwise.

Israel has bought enough weapons to make the whole region into glass:

You don’t agree? Show me where I’m mistaken. I don’t like this fact either, but it’s a fact. It sucks. It’s awful. But it’s reality. If you want to have a conversation, start with reality. Or downvote. That works too.

Y’all need to work on your research and media literacy. The information is out there.

Stockpile nuclear warheads: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nuclear_weapons_and_Israel#:~:text=Estimates of Israel’s stockpile range,to intercontinental range ballistic missiles.

Germany is the next exporter of arms to Israel, so if all US sales stopped tomorrow you’d have to bring the next countries on board:https://www.reuters.com/world/europe/rights-lawyers-go-court-stop-german-arms-deliveries-israel-2024-04-05/#:~:text=Last year%2C Germany approved arms, according to Economy Ministry data.

These purchases have already occured: https://www.abc.net.au/news/2024-04-03/drt-us-weapons-to-israel/103653536

Iran has enough conventional bombs to flatten Israel as well and there’s nothing Israel can do to stop it. Launching nukes is beyond stupid.

Germany certainly isn’t able to supply Israel with F35 parts and bombs if America blocks it.

                Linkerbaan,

Yo do this a lot but I don’t think it’s intentional. You play these word games of seeing the forest for the trees because you’re so entrenched in your position nothing will change your mind (or maybe it’s a language thing? Is English a 2nd language? I mean this candidly and not intended to offend). Here is an example:

I say something like “there on the hill are some trees.”

and you go: "No, that’s a forest. "

Then I say: “Yes, but there are trees in the forest.”

And then you reply: “Nop. It’s a forest”.

What exactly is being discussed here? does Israel have enough artillery to defend itself against ww3 or does it have enough artillery to wipe out Gaza and turn the whole peninsula into glass? Can you repeat back my initial point?

It’s definitely intentional. That account gives some plausibility to horseshoe theory.

I have the same exchange with this person every time:

                    Me: water is wet.

Linkerbaan: well no, beer is not water.

Me: water is H20, and it’s also wet. Here are some sources.

Linkerbaan: also, vodka is not water and it’s made from grain. Here is a quote by a dude that says that vodka is made from grain.

                    Me: …

                  Your quote

The US can stop all arms selling this instant and it wouldn’t change a thing.

Me: Proves you are completely wrong

“Munitions, munitions, and munitions”: Israel’s Netanyahu wants steady supply of more U.S. bombs

“We need three things from the US: munitions, munitions, and munitions,” Netanyahu said during a meeting with local government officials, per a recording obtained by the Israel Hayom newspaper, which Doha News could not verify, and quoted by the Financial Times.

                  You:

Move the goalpost and then accuse others of doing that

IDF projection and lying doesn’t work on actual non israelis sadly. Especially when anyone can scroll up and read the conversation.

                    Two points.

                    1

Let me get this straight: one off quotes from politicians are what counts for your standard evidence? Is that right? I want to hear you admit this is your standard of evidence.

                    Quotes from politicians are proof

Because if this is your de facto standard for evidence, which by the way in absolute no way negates what I said. This is all you’ve provided. A statement by Netanyahu.

Can you also point out which goal posts specifically was moved?

                    2

Does Netanyahu’s request for munitions negate what arsenal they already have?

This is simple English. Address my points please.

He can stop the weapon supply which would slow Israel.

I support Israel but it’s time to wrap this up. This has gone on to long.

Could he though? I’m legit asking, because I feel like the senate could prevent him from stopping all aid?

Regardless the only person that can make the cease fire happen is Netanyahu.
