    I tend to as well - this is the longest I’ve grown it out without a trim. My wife likes it untamed, but I don’t like the lack of coverage I get on the cheeks - makes me neckbeard-self-conscious.

      You could make it a deliberate choice - shaving slightly down to give a definitive line. It needn’t be full chinstrap, #1 here works fine. It’s part of the idea that you turn your facial hair weaknesses into strengths - thin moustache? Then shave it off. Not for me but I did have a friend do Movember and there was very foliage at the end of the month. I did suggest he could try a no tash beard but he had lost all facial hair confidence.

      My only other tip is that rather than trim the vertical beard face if you run some scissors along parallel to the jaw and chin, it can neaten the beard up and make it look thicker.
