Similarly, I needed to lookup hidden boxes a lot more for 4 than the other three crash bandicoot games. They seemed to be hidden in much more subtle or basically completely hidden areas, where 1-3 seemed to do a much better job at giving the player clues.
I wanted to like the game but it was just stupidly difficult at times.
Every issue with the game could have been mitigated by just making the levels smaller.

Oh man, don’t get me started on that. And the volume of boxes compared to the other games was just ridiculous.
