minus-square@[email protected]linkfedilink1•10 months agoYea, those are specifically configured to only be accessed at boot time, all the cache writes, etc, go to another drive that tolerates regular reads/writes. And I think even VMware, etc, are moving away from SD and going to M2, for reliability.
I’ve seen them set up in servers a RAID 1 booting ESXi
