Wouldn’t want to have news stories about worker rights, solutions to the housing crisis, or stories on the collusion between monopolistic corporations. Better to have 24/7 stories about Trump and shit like trans people using bathrooms. Stuff that doesn’t threaten the 1%'s stolen wealth and influence.

This is speculation, but I would imagine that gender bathrooms were a Victorian era invention. Much of our current gender roles today were created during that era. I could be wrong though, does anyone have the history of gender specific bathrooms?
