I suppose “because we’ve already done it/already do it” is a good excuse as any to do, well…. anything we want, right?
I could come up with a number of examples of things we do/did wrong and use it as an example to serve as a viable counterpoint- but I like to keep things in the wheelhouse of the discussion.
Alcohol is the most dangerous chemical consumed by the most people. Any person advocating societal level harm reduction through chemical prohibition and not including alcohol as the king of the problem chemicals is either a fool or arguing in bad faith.
Just because we have already legalized worse stuff doesn’t justify legalizing more stuff.
I made this same point earlier. The kids don’t want to hear it, but thanks for being one of the few here that understand that things have nuance.
So again, because it’s already a thing, we should just open the floodgates?
