About a week now since I joined Lemmy. It seemed to me at first that place like this, where the tech knowledge prerequisites are a little higher than Reddit or Twitter, and being a lot of Reddit refugees, would be a bit of a liberal haven.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m not against discourse, although these days that is trying at best. But, in the last few days I’ve been running into a lot of bullshit MAGA style nonsense on Lemmy.

And, I gotta say, that’s a bit disappointing.

      Oh, we’re doing this here now too? The old “I’m not even right leaning” comment in every thread by an account that just apologizes for the right and critizes the left in nearly every post?

      I thought we left that shit behind on Reddit

      sometimes “one direction” is correct and the other is grifters, bigots, and the mislead. it is actually possible for a worldview to be harmful and incorrect
