      Because glorifying crimes will lead to other people wanting to do the same crimes. They are trying to prevent crime instead of just reacting to crime.

      Although I think taking away 2 years of someone’s life for it is absolutely absurd and cruel.

        If glorifying crime makes people commit crime, then the rise of true crime addiction would have lead to more crime.
