Customizing your personal Spartan has long been a core component of Halo Infinite, and as we look ahead to our next update, we’re excited to share details of a brand-new system that will give players more agency over earned customization content.
Completing your first Daily Challenge will award 250 SP (rather than XP).
Completing the weekly Ultimate Reward will award 1,000 SP (instead of a misc. customization item).
Operations Reward tracks will offer up to 15,000 SP (replacing misc. other rewards).
They’re probably going to need to do some adjustments either on the earn rates or the SP prices, because to get the 30,000 SP coating you would need to complete the operation pass and you would need to play once every day and complete the weekly ultimate for a little under six weeks, basically an entire operation.
15,000 / ((250 * 7) + 1000) = ~5.5 weeks
On top of that, no longer awarding the first daily xp challenge, which was a pretty good amount iirc, will slow down operation pass progression.
You’re basically only going to be able to unlock 1-2 items from the exchange per operation pass based off of the prices in the screenshots, that’s pretty rough.
With SP rewards replacing the weekly ultimate reward, we are losing weekly customization items, so they have managed to reduce access to free customization outside of passes to 1-2/month instead of 4 and they’ve increased the grind to get those fewer items.
1 step forward, 2 steps backwards. The classic 343 move.
I barely play the game anymore, it’s fairly obvious that they aren’t putting the effort into Infinite anymore and are focused on the next game so you’d think that whilst Infinite still is the current game they would actually make good systems to keep the players, who are still playing, playing
