As if they were willing to give up that revenue stream in any case. It makes them too much money.

Original switch user…zero drift, never dropped or had controllers just fall out.

      The fuck are people doing?

        Also no drift!

…but I’ve only used my joycons for maybe an hour total, I can’t stand them. Love the pro controller though!

The pro controller is way better, but I still prefer Xbox and PlayStation controllers, in that order.

Dualsense is my fave! Especially in games where the triggers and haptics work (I play everything on the computer now.) Pacific Drive and Returnal make excellent use of the haptics and triggers.

You just got lucky, I guess. Or maybe you don’t use the joycons as much? I had to send my joycons back because of drift 3 times. Joycons aren’t full on falling out, but one of them will come out without pressing the button. Kickstand is also pretty useless, falls out from a tiny bit of pressure.

I barely used my joycons, but I had drift. I don’t think I was misusing them, I only used them when mobile, and that was infrequent. And yet they drifted.

I replaced the sticks with Hall effect sticks, and they’ve been fine since.

Drift has nothing to do with what people are doing. It occurs naturally from any dust or debris that makes it into the controller. Obviously the better care you take the less likely it is but it’s not user error causing stick drift.

Eh. You would think. But it could well have been about saving face more than actually wanting to do good. Think about how many people would have gone through the paperwork and trouble of getting their joycon repaired when buying a new pair is so much easier

Didn’t say they fix them for free because of wanting to do good. The alternative would be small claims or lawsuits because or broken hardware, so preventing a loss or revenue
