McConnell was very adamant, however, that it’s not his job to decide whether Trump is granted immunity against crimes committed while in office.

As the Supreme Court weighs whether Donald Trump is shielded from prosecution for acts committed while president, Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) said he opposes Trump’s view of absolute immunity.

He’ll talk out both sides of his mouth. He will say the president doesn’t have absolute immunity but be the first in line to sign legislation that says just that.
