    I dunno, unless they did that near the “elephant leg” itself - likely no significant consequences for their health. Bullets are worse.

      Ingestion and inhalation are waaaaay bigger killers compared to it just hitting your skin, digging a hole and lighting a fire is going to lead to both.

      This is due to Alpha particles, which are highly energetic protons/hydrogen nuclei, which are emitted by radioactive material. Normally, these are the most harmless, as they’re blocked by skin or clothing. But ingest these bastards and they’re free to unleash havoc

        I mainly meant that in Chernobyl most places are safe now. If they literally camped in some of the tourist places - then yeah.

          They’re not safe for the inside of you. If they inhaled and or consumed any radioactive particles, then they are inside of them doing serious damage.
