Interesting comparison of the AI eraser functions on the Pixel versus the Galaxy.
TL;DR: Samsung is better, according to the author.
Some questions remain though, as Google’s Magic Eraser gives multiple options for object removal. Some are quite bad or blotchy, others are nearly seamless. Don’t like any of the options it’s provided, then ask it to try again. The author doesn’t touch on this at all. Did they select the first option everytime? Was this the best of the options they were provided?
Better guess: they were incentivized to only delve as far as they did.

Yeah, to be fair, the naming isn’t great and I can see why people get confused by it. Magic Edit is not Magic Eraser. Magic Edit uses GenAI and gives you multiple options to choose from, while Magic Eraser is not based on GenAI and will only give you the result and no options to choose from.
