You can get a Blu-ray player at the thrift store for a few bucks, same with the discs. I never see 4k stuff there though.
I was talking about new releases for the disks, most people don’t buy players at the thrift stores (with good reason). Also, DVDs have better compatibility, some Blu-ray players cannot play newer disks
