Aside from some token talks and minor threats of sanctions Saudi Arabia faced no repercussions. Now 6 years later under the same ruler they are hailed as a partner of “stability in the region” and sold all sorts of weapons to, as well as getting continued support from western companies for supressing dissenting voices.
