Ok - so I am all in as a non profit ED and grant writer and only used the iPad Pro. But it’s like 89% awesome for work. I went all in and learned the OS but I really feel like I’m fighting against it 11% of the time and it’s getting really old. I had to build a logic model so I used Omnigraffle on the Mac and it was like suddenly my workflow/process got lubed up and I was speed racing through all sorts of tasks.

For example, today I was writing a letter in the office 365 app. I needed to cut and paste from another document. Nope. Couldn’t open both at the same time/side by side. So then I thought I’d try it using Google docs because I found recently that Google docs is an awesome WYSIWYG writing app. Nope. Don’t support two windows.

I got it done, but it’s little stuff like that that creates friction in my productivity. And that sucks. Also - I understand that my examples above are app specific, but I could just as easily write about how the Files app is a pain in the ass when I need to drag a column to be a bit wider to see info without opening the preview up…or about how highlighting words when using an external mouse is stupid and requires dragging the dots like using a finger.

Rant over.

I guess my question for any Lemmings out there is this: what small things can #apple do to make the OS super awesome for office work?

So I used stage manager on 16 for about six months. When I finally quit and went back to slide over i felt some of that friction melt away.

Are there any other improvements in terms of mouse and cursor intelligence in 17?

Do you like stage manager now? Im on an 11” and don’t typically use an external screen.

I think stage manager is a feature that really likes having a larger screen. I have a 12.9" and I plug it into a 27" monitor sometimes, so my use case is probably a bit different than yours. I’ve never tried it on an 11".

I use my iPad like a little iOS laptop - I’d probably get a 14" version if they made one.
