Incorporates 3rd-party DRM: EA on-line activation and Origin client software installation and background use required.

    I’m good thanks

Wait, so even though it’s on Steam, it will install Origin?

You wish it was origin, imo it was actually decent. EA now has a new launcher, a much worse one, why the hell they spent dev time creating something worse still boggles my mind

Logitech did this years ago, I still prefer the Logitech gaming software over ghub. Ghub fucks up all the time. So fucking annoying

Yes. That’s why I’m still not buying EA games to this day. Or Ubisoft for that matter.

Yea, that sucks. I remember boycotting Origin, when it came out. But I recall that EA eventually put their games back on Steam?

They did. But they all still need Origin. After you launch through Steam you get kicked over to Origin to also login there.

Yep. Origin and ME3’s exclusivity was exactly the last straw for me when it came to EA and what caused them to be on my boycott list ever since. People keep saying we should “encourage” the company by buying the stuff they do right, but I just don’t see any effort in that regards and I also don’t see how that makes up for all the shit they have pulled over the last couple decades. They ruined so many games, franchises and studios, so why should I rewards them with my money? It’s up to EA to make some proper concessions and do better first, and then we’ll see whether they can win me back as a customer or not.

I’ve been sailing for their games and Ubisoft for years. Ubisoft’s PC launch of AC2 was so bad I’ve refused to buy anything that requires Uplay.

There were tons of people (myself included) who couldn’t play AC2 for 3 weeks at launch because Uplay account issues. Then it required you to be online to save progress. But their own servers kept going down without warning or any kind of indication. I played the opening couple hours of AC2 at least 3 times because of my saves being lost. Which at that point was a month after release. And I gave up. Never finished.

So fuck EA and Ubisoft. The alternative options to acquire their games end up being the better user experience.
