    Kung government-owned, mas okay kung mag iimport tayo ng scientists para mag operate nito. Talamak pa rin kasi Padrino System sa atin kaya baka may makapasok na incompetent na scientists. Kung privately-owned naman, sana naman wag kuriputin yung pasahod sa mga local scientists para naman hindi rin incompetent mga pumapasok na scientists. Imagine sa nuclear power plant ka nagtatrabaho tapos tawag sayo scientist tapos sahod mo minimum wage.

      Hindi naman gagawa ng malaking reactor. Small modular reactors (SMR) yung balak i-deploy ng Meralco kaya mabilis lang and safer kasi less risk. We have scientists sa PNRI who are already managing a reactor na larger in comparison.

      That said, feasibility study pa lang naman… which was reported late last year din. It’s completely theoretical. If anything, ang worry natin dapat sa politicians should be that they’re old, ignorant, and resistant. Haharangin nila arbitrarily yung nuclear energy out of fear kasi “meltdown this” or “san ilalagay that” when those aren’t applicable (or grossly overstated with regards) to SMRs. Or worse (way worse!) yung mga lackeys ni Duterte that want the BNPP reopened and reused for this purpose.

      Mind you, hindi lang sa mga obvious na bugok sa senado applicable yung worry na yan. Even the lone decent senator we have, Risa Hontiveros, is trumpeting the same BS as most people. Fucking JV Ejercito is actually the sane person regarding this! Surprisingly kasi he’s not pushing for BNNP reopening but to follow PNRI’s lead.
