Square Enix announced during their FFXVI special event yesterday that the demo for the game would launch on PS5 today, June 12.
The demo will cover a couple hours of the game’s prologue, where your progress will carry over to the main game. After that portion, it will also present a special out-of-context battle section to show off the combat gameplay.
I played this some before work, and I was really impressed. I’m eager to play more later today.
The story seems interesting so far (PALACE INTRIGUE and not “whiny teenager.” And I say that with love; I’ve played every FF save for 11) and the combat is interesting. And not a hint of Cup Noodles anywhere!

Just happened to see something about it this morning and scurried downstairs to my PS5 to start the download, lol!
