Edinburgh Filmhouse set to reopen following funding boost

The independent cinema has received a £1.5m grant from the UK government.

Great news this, was such a shame to see the Filmhouse closed. So glad it’s not been turned into a chain pub or something.

      Saw so many good shows there - Mars Volta, De La Soul, Gong, Wu Tang Clan…

      I wish that we had another gig venue like that but nothing really replaced it. Leith Theatre is maybe the closest.

        I’m hoping the proposed new place near the Gyle gets the go ahead. Although I’d always prefer a city centre venue where possible!
