A Boeing 737 plane carrying 85 people skidded off the runway at the airport in Dakar, Senegal’s capital, injuring 10 people, a statement from the country’s transport minister said in a statement on Thursday.

El Malick Ndiaye, the transport minister, said the Air Sénégal flight operated by TransAir was headed to Bamako late on Wednesday carrying 79 passengers, two pilots and four cabin crew.

I don’t mind them having permanent scrutiny to get them and keep them on a better path. They needed government supervision but neither party could handle that so now they can be supervised by the media, tabloids, and the great unwashed public

Boeing also supplies parts, expertise, and maintenance schedules. Even though the plane was build a long time ago, it could still certainly be their fault.

Are they also responsible for flying the plane, performing the maintenance, or confirming the maintenance has been done? No

And is much more likely that this was the fault of the pilots. It appears to be a departing aircraft. It is likely that the pilots went for an aborted takeoff after V1 and they failed to get the aircraft stopped in time.

I’m not trying to defend Boeing but not everything is their fault.
