Wijnen is not alone in his standpoint. Earlier this month the chief of staff of the Belgian army said he feared war with Russia and called for better preparations. Germany’s defence minister Boris Pistorius has also called for the return of military service.

      Yes, somehow it remains quite unclear. There’s some selected (public) info. But mainly we read military budget increases & new orders etc. Also we get some info on the development of the European Rapid Response Force ( afaik 1500? now, and 5k? for the future. There appear to be some operational tensions/ pitfalls with NATO requirements, not sure.

        Thanks for the details mate. I certainly hope this effort will not be derailed by the results of last legislative elections, not sure where Vlaams Belang falls related to the war in Ukraine. By the way, how is the new government coming together? Also, I would like other EU countries to start getting ready for a full scale war, just in case.
