Remember that day we didn’t cook a Dalit woman? Nobody ever gives us any credit for that.

Something tells me a day doesn’t go by in India without femicide.

It’s a fucked up state. Poverty, low literacy rate, and a massive population all contribute.

I’ve watched like 20+ seasons of Amazing Race and of all the countries visited, India was by far the worst. Always. The dread every participant had going in and the relief when leaving was palpable. You couldn’t pay me enough to go there.

“Local cat rescued out of tree” “Lady cooked to death” one story has more weight than another.

There are 240 million people in it. For this particular instance, there is a great convergence of a large amount of lower castes and not valuing women much. There is a high percentage of lower castes who are looked down upon unofficially and there are only about 900 women for every 1000 men because they abort girls and often don’t give them basic shit like food.

But we should also be seeing bad news about other parts of India.

Wednesday, she was working at the cauldron when Pramod, Raju and Sandeep allegedly molested and misbehaved with his sister. When she protested, the accused allegedly threw her into the hot cauldron with the intention of killing her, and also hurled “casteist words” at her. After this, the three accused fled.
