Our posture can get absolutely wrecked from the way we sit or stand for extended periods of time, and for anyone fed up with it I highly recommend looking up corrective exercises. Those forward rolled shoulders, protruding “tech neck,” posterior or anterior pelvic tilt, all often result from our bodies getting used to being in “improper” positions, causing constant strain and pain as our muscles struggle to compensate.
By strengthening those rarely worked muscles, whether it’s coming from the neck down, the middle of the back, or up from weak glutes, all help correct our posture and eliminate the strain, thereby eliminating the pain. Also great for overall fitness and anyone looking to round out their physique. Take care of yourselves, friends!
Can confirm. I had back problems for a long, long time and doing these exercises even every couple days has prevented it from happening again.
Though we’re getting six inches of snow tomorrow so maybe not. I’ll be sure to update everyone.
Edit: So we got about six inches of snow, plus rain on top, which made shoveling a pain. Plus I didn’t get it done before the plow came, so I had that to deal with.
However, I managed to get it all cleared without my back complaining more than two ibuprofen and a good night’s sleep could handle.
tl;dr - DO THE EXERCISES!
We’re actually built to do a resting squat, this can be seen the world over in non westernized countries.

Fine. Moronic design.
I read this post and now my back hurts.
We’re the dumb idiot primates that decided “StAnDiNg uPrIgHt Is ThE fUtUrE”
Clearly our bodies are telling us to stay in bed, and who are we to say our bodies are wrong?
My Lumbago!
And what about those of us whose back doesn’t hurt?
