“Sorry, as a language model I don’t feel comfortable googling that for you. Have you considered clicking some nice ads instead?”

All the commenters here complaining but have you guys used Google assistant in recent months? It’s absolutely fucking useless.

If this piece of shit can at least field a simple request without responding with “sorry I don’t understand” then it’s at least a step up. The bar is so very low here.

“Apples could soon replace oranges in your fruit-based desserts”

I mean, honestly, what a worthless fucking title.

I am so happy there is AOSP / Distros actually making it usable.

Did you know Google does as little work as possible making their FOSS projects usable? Chromium, Chromebook Firmware, AOSP, …

Its very interesting what GrapheneOS all needed to do, to make it work well. For example they translated the Google Pixel Carrier stuff to AOSP (which is not compatible with the PixelOS stuff!)

This is funny because accessing Google Assistant is clunky AF on my both my P6P and P8P. In fact the only way I know how to launch it in lieu of allowing Google to listen to everything I say, is to connect headphones and hold the button, WTF?

Awesome. Now Google Search and Google Assistant will be terrible.

Now? They’ve both been lacking (and declining) for years at this point.
