Those are some heavy hitters. It’s clear from their ICJ submission that they have thoroughly prepared. Best of luck to South Africa. Flying the flag for humanity.

South Africa, having experienced one of the worst aspects of humanity, trying to ensure “never again” means “never again”, unlike Israel for whom “never again” just applies to themselves.

Best of luck to South Africa.

I wish all the citizens in the region the best of luck to end the war and atrocities. I also wonder whoms flag they are actually flying; who’s agenda is it?

The SA government isn’t doing this for humanitarian (HRW report) reasons, are they?

Added : In contrast, South Africa( ANC) remained " neutral " and didn’t support UN resolutions condemning Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, their war crimes & genocide.

Why is SA is neutral in Ukraine Russia war

    They’ll probably need that…

A British lawyer will defend Israel at the International Court of Justice in the Hague next week against South Africa’s accusation that the Jewish state is perpetrating genocide against the Palestinians in its ongoing war with Hamas in Gaza.

Professor Malcolm Shaw KC, who will present Israel’s defense against the charges next week, is a leading expert on territorial disputes and a published author on the law of genocide.

The South Africans also have two British KCs on their team: Vaughan Lowe KC and Blinne Ní Ghrálaigh KC

Shaw wrote the book on International law and genocide- literally and has argued at the Hague many times.
