Friendly PSA: Yarn is super dangerous for cats! They will ingest it (because they love eating things they shouldn’t), and it will tangle in their stomach and intestines and cost you many dollars to remove said yarn. Please be super careful with this!

I think it didn’t come with yarn. Check what distro is it running: cat /etc/*-release

Do you have npm? Try: npm install --global yarn. That will do, independent of the distro.

My cat ingested some thread from our curtains and the emergency surgery to get it out cost over $6000

Yes he’s fine now! This happened last fall. The recovery period is so tough. Wearing the cone and/or onesie is a terrible experience for cats. Our little guy was miserable for 3+ weeks he had to have it on.

If you don’t have pet insurance, get some now! We didn’t. Signed up for coverage a day after his surgery. About $200 for a year and covers accidents like this.

            Recovery period:

Had to have a pricey surgery for one of mine after he ate a bunch of yarn. Cannot recommend.

What! I didn’t know that, and I just gave one of my cats a little crocheted ball yesterday. I hadn’t made it for them, but one of them was obsessed with it quickly so I figured I’d let him have it. BRB going to find it and take it away, I had no idea, thank you for mentioning this!!!
