“I have some ideas,” Yeun teased. “But I heard if you put it out there, you’ll never get it, so I’ll keep it close to my chest.”

It wouldn’t surprise me if Marvel cast him as Sunfire in the X-Men stuff, but that would be problematic as Sunfire is Japanese and Yeun is Korean. But I guess they could just re-make the character as Korean… why not?

I think once the X-Men enter the scene you have a HUGE pile of characters to choose from. I’m not super familiar with Sunfire but from what I do know his Japanese background is an important part of the character. I’d be hesitant to just remove it.

However as an ancestor of Sunfire that could be fine.

I think “Amadeus Cho” works of you’re looking for a Korean American role. Although realistically I don’t think Yeun is actually good for that role. I think he is a little too old and while I know he can play that character (since Invincible is roughly the style we’re going for) I don’t see it working in live action.

I think as an actor there are A LOT of roles he could fit into. I do wish we got to see him in a more villainous role since that is one I don’t quite see when I think of him. In any case I expect he’ll find an alternative role soon enough.

It’s amazing when you consider the X-Men started as a base of six characters then ballooned out into hundreds. Definitely room for all sorts of casting.

I still want Keanu Reeves as Mister Sinister. :)

I’m sure he would have been good but I appreciate him opting out for artistic reasons if that is what happened.

Considering that “Secret Invasion” was a boisterous, Avenger-filled fast and zany adventure comic, and it translated into a slow-thoughtful, Avenger-less, down-to-earth poorly-rated slow burn on streaming, I can see how folks attached to Thunderbolts (an Avernger-filled fast and zany adventure comic) as a streaming show could feel concerned.

Edit: ‘Thunderbolts’ should be three entries in the Avengers film series. Anything less is an injustice to the source material.

I’m pretty sure he saw the writing on the wall. Marvel is really falling apart. The Marvels and the Eternals are two examples of Marvel failing to create a “Avengers” that people enjoy.

Steven Yeun Is ‘Sorry’ He Dropped Out of Marvel’s ‘Thunderbolts,’ Cites Strike and Scheduling Issues: ‘I Wanna Do a Marvel Movie’

Literally the first thing you read in the article.

People can say one thing but do another. Saying “MCU is a sinking ship, so I’m abandoning to see how it plays out” probably burns a few bridges.

I would guess people can do just about anything, so you’re not wrong.

Oh please, like people ever read the article. They read the headline and just make up the rest. Nobody ever reads the article or looks up shit for themselves anymore. I’ve just had to correct someone about the cybertrucks wheels. Hate the vehicle all you want, I do for my own reasons, but don’t just make shit up. And it’s not just this shit, it happens in all sorts of fields. And the worst thing is you usually get a reply of “okay, but whataboutthis” and you just get more false shit. It’s as if people think that their feelings/assumptions are somehow more valid than actual facts…

Weird as Snyder’s Watchmen is better than anything Marvel Studios has ever made.

It’s a good film, but marvel have put out some genuine gems among the rubbish. Thor Ragnarok (and imo love and thunder although I understand why people disagree), GotG 1 & 3, and some of the TV shows are all excellent and I would argue rival Snyder’s Watchmen.
